The Lun-class Ekranoplan, an experimental coastal defense vehicle crafted by the Soviet Union in the early 1980s, is a testament to unparalleled human innovation. It seamlessly melded the advantageous characteristics of ships and aircraft, capable of carrying as much cargo as a vessel while soaring through the skies at astonishing speeds of up to 500 km/h. Its vast size, unparalleled hybrid attributes, and unconventional design make the sole surviving Ekranoplan a testament to the remarkable inventiveness of Soviet-era engineering. Remarkably, even after nearly five decades, it still exudes an aura of futuristic brilliance. The Raketa “Ekranoplan” watch features a rotating bezel insert crafted from a segment of metal sourced directly from the Lun-class Ekranoplan, a token officially bestowed upon the Raketa Factory. On the watch’s reverse side, a finely adorned 24-hour automatic movement, entirely manufactured by the Raketa Watch Factory in Saint-Petersburg, is on display.
