The Carl Suchy & Söhne Waltz No.1 Ornament Edition introduces a fresh take on modern watch design. Inspired by Josef Hoffmann, the watch focuses on structure rather than decoration. Its dial is built around a grid of fine concentric lines, where the numerals naturally emerge from the design instead of being added on top. At six o’clock, the signature Waltzing Disc rotates smoothly once per minute, adding a subtle sense of movement while keeping the overall look calm, balanced, and easy to read. Inside, the watch is powered by the ultra-thin Calibre CSS-A1, developed with Vaucher Fleurier Manufacture. Despite being just 2.6mm thick, it delivers impressive performance and precision. The movement reflects the same clean geometry as the dial, with openworked bridges that create a sense of depth and symmetry. A gold-plated micro-rotor keeps the watch wound efficiently, while the balance beats steadily at 3 Hz. Turn the watch over, and you’ll see careful finishing throughout, polished edges, fine textures, and a level of detail that rewards a closer look without feeling overdone. Each Waltz No.1 Ornament Edition is handcrafted in Switzerland by master watchmaker Marc Jenni, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail. Rather than simply borrowing ideas from Hoffmann, this edition brings his design thinking into watchmaking in a natural, modern way. First presented in Geneva during Watches and Wonders 2026, the Ornament Edition signals a new direction for Carl Suchy & Söhne, one that focuses on clarity, balance, and a more architectural approach to timekeeping.
