Alpina’s Alpiner Manufacture Date Special Edition, created with Geneva design studio Label Noir, flips expectations with a striking winter-white execution. Known for its dark, stealthy design, Label Noir instead delivers a snow-inspired concept limited to 130 pieces. The 41.5 mm case introduces a first for Alpina: a hammered bezel and lugs, textured to resemble freshly fallen powder. This frosted character continues across the finely grained white dial, where no two patterns appear exactly alike. The overall look ties directly to the brand’s alpine heritage, pairing icy tones with mineral-grey case elements and a technical nylon strap whose soft sheen echoes sunlight on snow. The design focuses on texture and contrast rather than color. A box-style sapphire crystal opens up the dial visually, removing the flange for a steep, cliff-like drop from case to display. A sector-style minute track circles the perimeter, with alternating markers and a grey-lacquered date highlight at 6 o’clock. The three central hands are finished in smooth white lacquer against the roughened dial surface for instant legibility, with Super-LumiNova on the hour and minute hands glowing blue in low light. Powering the watch is Alpina’s in-house AL-706 automatic movement, marking the brand’s return to manufacture calibres in this line. Visible through the caseback, it features decorative finishing and delivers a 72-hour power reserve thanks to an enlarged barrel and upgraded spring alloy. A cool-headed technical statement, dressed for high-altitude conditions.
