The BENRUS Sky Chief returns as a modern tribute to one of the brand’s most famous aviation watches. First introduced in 1940, the original quickly became popular with airline pilots thanks to its clear, practical chronograph design. BENRUS had already produced pilot watches in the 1930s, such as the Flyer and the Pilot, but the Sky Chief was created specifically for use in the cockpit. Its highly domed crystal and slim bezel gave the dial a porthole-like appearance, improving visibility while flying. The tri-compax chronograph layout, along with a special aeronautical scale on the minute counter, helped pilots calculate navigation and cruising times with precision. The 2026 Sky Chief Chronograph keeps the spirit of the original while updating it with modern watchmaking. The stainless steel case measures a balanced 36mm and is only 11.9mm thick, making it comfortable for everyday wear. A double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating recreates the vintage look while improving durability and clarity. Inside, the watch is powered by the Swiss-made ETA 2894 automatic chronograph movement, which is COSC-certified for high accuracy and offers a 42-hour power reserve. The movement can also be seen through the sapphire case back. The dial features a glossy sunburst finish with azuré sub-counters, while BG W9 Super-LumiNova on the hands and numerals ensures excellent readability in low light. The watch is available in two colors: Stratus Grey and Cirrus White. Both versions come with a grey leather strap, with an additional black strap option.
