The Hermès Arceau L’heure de la Lune returns in an extraordinary new trio, a celestial symphony of timekeeping and cosmic wonder limited to just 12 sets. Introduced in 2019, this poetic expression of the lunar cycle now unveils a fresh evolution, where its signature floating counters—displaying time and date—orbit the dial in a mesmerizing 59-day dance, gradually revealing the twin moon discs beneath. This mechanical ballet is orchestrated by an intricate 117-component Hermès module, offering a simultaneous view of moon phases in both hemispheres. Art meets astronomy with a Pegasus illustration by Dimitri Rybaltchenko gracing one of the moons on each dial, an artistic homage to the house’s equestrian heritage. The three new renditions pair contrasting case and lug materials, while their dials house fragments from the great beyond. The first, in white gold and blue titanium, carries an actual piece of lunar rock—a direct link to the very moon it honors. The second, in rose gold and titanium, features a sliver of Vesta, one of the solar system’s largest asteroids. The third, blending white and rose gold, is adorned with Erg Chech meteorite, a relic of a vanished planetary body. Tying these cosmic compositions together, Hermès’ leatherworking expertise shines through in the supple matte alligator straps: abyss blue for the white gold and blue titanium model, and graphite for the others.
