The Delphis Dracula is one of those watches that could easily tip into gimmickry, and very deliberately doesn’t. Limited to 50 pieces, it takes the long-standing Delphis concept and pushes it into more expressive territory, without losing sight of what matters: material quality, execution, and mechanical interest. The solid 18ct gold case sets the tone, but it’s the dial that does the heavy lifting. Executed in fire enamel over a hand-guillochéd gold base, the deep red surface has a deep density and warmth. The process is as demanding as it gets: multiple layers of translucent enamel, each fired individually, with no room for error. The result is rich and controlled, catching light softly rather than shouting for attention. It’s the kind of dial that rewards time spent looking at it. The display is equally distinctive, combining jumping hours with a retrograde minute. Power comes from the Manufacture Calibre C.6004, developed with La Joux-Perret, and finished to the standard expected at this level. Presented in a custom wooden box shaped like a coffin, the Delphis Dracula is undeniably eccentric but beneath that, it’s a serious, well-judged piece of independent watchmaking.
