Description

Zenith continues to sharpen its focus on precision watchmaking with the latest G.F.J. collection. Named after founder Georges Favre-Jacot, this release focuses on what the brand does best: chronometry. After winning the Chronometry Prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2025, the G.F.J. returns in a limited edition of 161 pieces in yellow gold, now featuring a bold bloodstone dial. The new execution highlights the collection’s role as the modern home of the iconic Calibre 135, a movement that continues to define Zenith’s reputation for accuracy and craftsmanship. Zenith built its name through observatory chronometry competitions, collecting an impressive 2,333 prizes over time. Central to this success was the Calibre 135, produced from 1949 to 1962 and designed specifically for precision trials. Its competition version, the 135-O, earned 235 awards and set a record with five consecutive wins at the Neuchâtel Observatory. Instead of simply recreating the past, Zenith has reworked this movement for modern standards. The updated Calibre 135 keeps its original proportions and architecture while adding improvements like a 72 hour power reserve, enhanced efficiency, and COSC certified accuracy of plus or minus two seconds per day. The new G.F.J. presents this movement in a 39.5mm yellow gold case inspired by classic 1950s chronometers. The dial adds real character with its three part design, combining a natural bloodstone centre, a mother of pearl small seconds display, and a finely detailed guilloché outer ring inspired by Zenith’s manufacture in Le Locle. Gold markers and sharp hands complete the look with balance and clarity. On the back, the movement features traditional finishing with a modern touch. Limited to just 161 pieces, the G.F.J. delivers a clean and confident take on precision watchmaking today.
