The Seiko 6139 chronograph movement was launched in 1969, and it (alongside the Zenith El Primero and the Calibre 11 from Heuer/Breitling/Buren/Hamilton) has a claim to be the first automatic chronograph. It was definitely the first automatic chronograph used in space, by Col. William Pogue (where a gold dialed version gets it nickname) on his 84 day Skylab 4 mission in 1974. So in short it is highly respected. It has quickset day and date The pushers work extremely well. One deep press changes the day of the week between English and Kanji, one shallow press advances the date by one. The movement has been serviced regularly. Invoices of a service from 2016 and another from 2022 come from with the original box.
