Following the debut of the UR-230 Eagle, URWERK introduces the UR-230 Polaris, a reimagined version that maintains the original technical foundation but features a cutting-edge ceramic-based composite material. This proprietary white composite is reinforced with fiberglass, improving its resilience and addressing the fragility typically associated with ceramics. Its layered structure creates a visually dynamic effect, with varying light interplay across its curves and angles. The UR-230 Polaris design incorporates a bold design inspired by the space-age imagery of 2001: A Space Odyssey and NASA’s Apollo missions. A white exterior contrasts with a black UR-7.30 caliber movement, housed in a trapezoidal case with precise design elements, including a crown at 12 o’clock and sapphire apertures. Functionally, the watch features URWERK’s signature revolving satellite hour display with a retrograde minute hand, designed in white to match the case. It introduces innovative shock absorbers and air-regulation turbines to protect the movement and optimize winding efficiency. A dual-switch mechanism allows the wearer to control the winding system and transition to manual mode.
