Founded in 2020 by Finnish independent watchmaker Reima Koivukoski, KronowerK builds affordable stainless-steel pieces with ETA ébauches. While Reima uses his namesake brand for true haute horology, KronowerK still stands out for its handwork and craftsmanship at a more accessible price. This watch features a hand-hammered copper dial with applied Breguet numerals, steel rings, handmade hands, and an ETA 2892-2 that’s finished and assembled in-house, all in a fully handmade case produced on a mill and lathe with no CNC involved. This example is a unique piece. It served as the pre-production prototype for the TimeOnly Mark II Copper, a 10-piece limited edition that came out later. As a prototype, it isn’t flawless and shows light signs of handling from multiple assembly cycles. Personally, I think that only adds to its charm and underscores the one-maker execution by Reima Koivukoski.
