Amida first shook up the watchmaking world in 1976 with the mechanical Digitrend. A prism on the front rotated the jumping hour discs by ninety degrees, allowing the time to be read from the side while driving. Today, we are revisiting this idea and taking it to the next level. Two-thirds of the new case is made of transparent sapphire, cultivated using the Kyropoulos method. Each piece is shaped and polished for over twenty hours until all optical distortion is eliminated. Light floods the movement, revealing every edge with clarity. Inside, there is a Soprod Newton automatic base combined with our own internal jumping hour module. This module retains the original digital display but benefits from modern tolerances and traditional Swiss finishing. Large Geneva stripes, mirror-polished angles, and meticulous circular graining reward the attentive eye.
