A stunning Universal Genève Compax (featuring three sub-dials, making it a Tri-Compax model) in excellent condition for its age—78 years old—and has been in a private collection its entire life. This is a post-war model from 1948, featuring a white dial beautifully patinated by the gold from the hands, which has settled like a sunburst pattern from years of movement. Thus, gold hands, gold and radium hour markers, steel case, logoed crown, a superbly patinated blue alligator strap that matches the watch perfectly, and an original strap buckle (though not logoed Universal Genève). The watch is in perfect working order (time and chronograph), serviced by me and by my grandfather before me; it is manually wound. A bit of history: the Compax is Universal Genève’s chronograph; with its balanced dial and well-proportioned case, this watch has perfectly retained its timeless appeal. This Compax exemplifies the beauty of Universal Genève’s production in the 1940s, with its original dial and hands matching the applied gold hour markers. This particularly elegant example features a flying saucer-shaped case. Beautiful box included, leather exterior and nubuck interior.
