A rare and fully functioning example of the Wakmann Triple Date Chronograph in the scarcer 725.1309 reference, circa 1960s. Wakmann was Breitling’s American operation during this era — these watches are functionally identical to Breitling-signed pieces of the same period and are increasingly collected by enthusiasts of both brands. Movement: Manual wind Valjoux 730, 17 jewels — the same movement family underpinning the Rolex Daytona. Chronograph starts, stops, and resets correctly. All pushers fully operational. Complications: Tricompax layout — 30-minute counter at 3, running seconds at 9, 12-hour counter at 6. Triple date display with day and month windows at 12 and date indicated on outer track via crescent hand. Case: Stainless steel, antimagnetic, Incabloc shock protection, pressure tested to 5 ATM. Swiss Made. Ref. 725.1309 engraved on caseback. Case shows honest age-appropriate wear consistent with a 60-year-old timepiece. Crystal: Acrylic with minor surface scratches consistent with age — no cracks or chips. Strap: Black rubber NATO strap (not original). Box/Papers: None.
