The Omega Speedmaster Professional reference 311.30.42.30.01.004, widely known among collectors as the “Tintin”, is one of the most distinctive modern Moonwatch editions. Introduced in 2013 to mark the 60th anniversary of Hergé’s Destination Moon, it was originally conceived as a licensed tribute to The Adventures of Tintin before the collaboration was withdrawn prior to launch. The final production model retains only the most subtle reference: a red-and-white checkered minute track around the outer dial, inspired by the rocket’s livery in the comic. Housed in the classic 42 mm stainless-steel Speedmaster case, it is powered by the manual-winding Calibre 1861, the direct descendant of the legendary Calibre 321 that accompanied NASA astronauts to the Moon. The black dial features the familiar three chronograph registers, while the screw-down caseback carries the standard Moonwatch engraving in red lettering, a detail that further sets this reference apart.
