In 1967, doxa launched the revolutionary sub concept, considered the first truly 'mainstream' professional diving watch. The radical innovations it introduced at the time quickly made it the benchmark for professionals too. It was water-resistant to 30 bar (equivalent to 300 meters), and for the first time featured a unidirectional bezel with a double indication linking dive time to depth to ensure an ascent without decompression stops, and a colored dial for a diver's watch - orange - to enhance its readability underwater. With a diameter of 42.5 mm, in top-quality 316L stainless steel, the sub 300 is now equipped with a three-hand self-winding movement with the prestigious cosc Certified Chronometer certification, guaranteeing precision, robustness, reliability and a 38-hour power reserve. A date window is positioned at 3 o'clock. It features the famous patented unidirectional rotating bezel with dual indication of dive time in minutes and depth in meters for ascent without decompression stops, a screw-down crown, and water resistance to 300 meters, equivalent to ~984 feet. As a reference to its history, the domed, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment is shaped like the Plexiglas of yesteryear. All diving-related displays feature a Super-LumiNova luminescent coating to ensure excellent legibility during dives where visibility is reduced. From 2020, the sub 300 is available in 8 colors, equipped with either the iconic steel rice mesh bracelet or a sportier rubber strap, tone-on-tone with the dial, with doxa markings on both sides, equipped with a folding clasp featuring the exclusive doxa fish symbol. Each rubber strap is designed with an adjustable diving extension to adapt to the wearing of a wetsuit.
