Offered for sale is a rare and distinctive Aquastar Glastar, ref. 606—a vintage diver’s watch from the ’60s and ’70s known for its innovative use of a fiberglass case, an advanced technical solution for its time that ensures extreme lightness and corrosion resistance. Its total weight of just 34 grams makes it particularly comfortable on the wrist. The original black dial features a uniform patina with applied hour markers and tritium inserts that have taken on a warm creamy-yellow hue. The oversized hands, typical of the model, ensure excellent readability, while the orange-tipped seconds hand adds a sporty touch. A date window is located at 3 o’clock. The outer bezel, also in keeping with the model’s tool watch philosophy, shows consistent signs of aging but maintains good legibility. The overall design is very distinctive and instantly recognizable. The reliable manual-winding movement, typical of production from that era, is paired with a rated water resistance of 10 atm, making the watch a true lightweight and functional diving instrument. An original and rare specimen, ideal for collectors of unconventional vintage divers’ watches, with a strong technical and historical identity.
