A stunning vintage “Sully – Chronographe Suisse” chronograph from the 1950s. The watch captivates with its charming, champagne-colored original dial featuring a magnificent double scale (outer tachymeter scale and inner red telemeter scale), applied Arabic numerals, and two chronograph sub-dials. Dial: Original from the period, clearly marked with “Sully Chronographe Suisse,” “17 Rubis Antimagnetic,” and “Swiss Made.” Beautiful vintage patina. Movement: Hand-wound chronograph caliber (typically Landeron), a milestone in Swiss watchmaking of that era. Case: Approx. 38 mm in diameter (excluding the crown). Strap: Burgundy-red leather with crocodile embossing. A caliber from the Landeron family, specifically a Landeron 51. It is one of the best-known, most reliable, and most widely used Swiss hand-wound chronograph movements from the heyday of watchmaking (the 1940s and 1950s). Its main feature is the control of the chronograph functions via a cam system (lever) instead of a column wheel. Movement: Original Swiss Landeron 51 hand-wound caliber, 17 jewels, stamped “Swiss Unadjusted.” The movement is clean and in excellent aesthetic condition. Case: Gold-plated, with age-related signs of wear (see photo of the exposed movement). Snap-on back.
