316L stainless steel case, grade 1.4441 – 100% recycled and sourced from the Jura region. The Circular 1 collection is the first iconic timepiece created by id Genève. The stainless steel used in our watch case is locally sourced and traceable. It comes from the waste of some forty watchmaking companies in the Jura and surrounding areas. The waste management facility collects the scrap, cleans it, sorts it, and stores it. Once a minimum quantity is reached, this waste is remelted less than 200 kilometers from the Jura. The 4441 steel grade is the Rolls Royce of stainless steel! We like to call it the "new gold" of Switzerland. The "4441" marking appears on the back of the case and certifies its Swiss recycled origin. The carbon footprint of this steel is 10 times lower than that of standard steel, as certified by an independent expert in environmental performance. This also allows us to eliminate the need for any new raw material extraction.
