At a time when technological euphoria, belief in progress, technical knowledge, and craftsmanship were making enormous contributions to the development of air transport, the efficiency of transport routes, and the safety of flight operations, one of the two largest aircraft in the world took center stage in 1929: the G38, a land plane for transporting mail, cargo, and passengers, manufactured at the Junkers Works in Dessau. There was hardly an airline in the 1920s and 1930s that did not use Junkers aircraft. The Ju 52/3m in particular made the Junkers name world-famous. The legendary Tante Ju—with its typical corrugated metal exterior—impressed with its proverbial indestructibility and extreme punctuality. In memory of these outstanding achievements and for all those who still feel the spirit of adventure of those years, Point tec has created a series of Junkers pilot watches with great attention to detail: Elaborate dials, stainless steel cases, and high-quality movements distinguish this collection. Each watch is engraved with the edition number and the Junkers aviation emblem on the stainless steel back. Every watch in this series is a masterpiece of high-precision electronics and precision engineering. The watch offered here has only been worn a few times and has visible signs of wear only on the back. The bracelet has been replaced with a high-quality leather strap. It comes in an attractive, neutral watch box. The Junkers F13 was the world's first commercial aircraft, developed in Dessau in 1919, and was a revolutionary metal aircraft design. It formed the basis for modern passenger aviation and was used by Lufthansa for scheduled service when it was founded in 1926. More than 300 aircraft were sold in over 300 countries. It was the first civilian aircraft to be made entirely of metal and, for the first time, offered passengers a closed cabin that could be heated, while the pilots sat in an open cockpit. With its maiden flight on June 25, 1919, the F13 laid the foundation for modern aviation and thus achieved historical significance.
